Dwelling in Schinoussa
The project involved the construction of both the architectural part and the surrounding landscape.
The dwelling is totally immersed in the Mediterranean nature where it is possible to breathe the acrid smells of the countryside and walk among the fields, in contact with the sea. It is an architecture capable of respecting the signs of the local tradition and perfectly in line with the atmosphere of this island which is still considered the paradise on earth for all those who dream of a simple life.
The project involved the choice of the place, the framing of the best perspective views, the choice of the appropriate orientation to maintain a constant dialogue with the sea and the countryside and finally the realization of this architecture gently accompanied by a deep sense of simplicity, nature of this island and its inhabitants.
The landscape project is aimed at giving continuity with the surrounding territory. All the elements used are local: crushed stones, earth, patches of native vegetation of Metrosideros, Melaleuca, Capparis, Myoporum. Few plants have been inserted near the house including an olive tree in the central patio, Gaura lindheimeri ‘Short form’, Carissa macrocarpa.

The district of Milan where it is placed – Porta Venezia – is one of the most lively and vibrant of the city. The office adsorbs what happens around and gives it back enriched by new vibrant energy, being a natural element in constant growth, mutation and evolution.
