Natural materials, durability, a positive energy balance, care and attention in the relationship to the landscape: architecture can contribute to climate protection in many ways. The ‘Constructive Alps’ exhibition was created to showcase the good practices of the architecture award of the same name. It is dedicated to sustainable renovation and construction projects throughout the Alps selected by a jury that places ecological responsibility as a central parameter in assessing the submitted projects.
Innovative examples of climate-friendly architecture in the Alpine region from the years 2012 to 2022 are displayed. A journey through residential buildings, Alpine huts, cultural houses, schools and village meeting centres. The exhibition invites visitors to imitate this attitude and reflect on the issues presented.
Constructive Alps is curated by the Swiss Alpine Museum Bern in cooperation with the Swiss Federal Office for Spatial Development ARE and with the support of CIPRA, International Commission for the Protection of the Alps
